Mala Making at Irish Eyes Photography

mala making.jpg

Join Emily Beaulieu, mindfulness and meditation instructor of The Happy Heart, at Irish Eyes Photography Studio. Irish Eyes is a gorgeous studio located in Hingham, MA. Emily & Kerry have been hoping to collaborate for a little while and look forward to guiding you in making your own mala!

We’ve seen them worn by everyone from yoga teachers to celebs, the mala is a beautiful beaded creation often worn around the neck or wrist. Malas are used in many people's meditation practice but can also be added to your jewelry collection.

Typically a mala is a string made of 108 beads of either wood, seeds, pearls or semi-precious / precious stones. Some mala's have a 109th bead called the guru bead. The guru bead typically sits at the center of the mala, the area closest to your heart. Some believe that positive energy associated with your mala is stored here. You will be able to choose the color of your silk for threading, tassel and which healing beads & guru bead you are drawn to from a selection to make your mala unique to you. All materials will be provided. You will also learn how to use and care for your mala.

Light snacks & beverages will be provided. Space is limited and cost is $45 per person.
